Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and physically fit Construction Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will perform a wide range of physically demanding tasks to assist in the completion of construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing worksites, operating tools and machinery, loading and unloading materials, and assisting skilled tradespeople. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety protocols. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided. We are looking for people with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Construction Workers' Responsibilities

  • Setup: Unload materials and equipment. Erect scaffolding, ladders, and barricades. Set up temporary structures and safety fencing.
  • Demolition: Safely tear down existing structures using tools like sledgehammers, jackhammers, and crowbars.
  • Excavation: Dig trenches, backfill holes, and compact earth to prepare the foundation. This may involve using shovels, picks, and compactors
  • Cleanup: Keep the worksite tidy and hazard-free by removing debris, trash, and dangerous materials. This is crucial for preventing accidents and is often a constant task throughout the day.
  • Measurement & Cutting: Read a tape measure accurately and cut materials like wood, steel, and plastic to specified sizes using hand tools or power saws.
  • Tool Operation & Maintenance: Operate a variety of hand tools (hammers, drills, levels) and power tools (pneumatic jackhammers, concrete mixers, saws) safely.
  • Concrete Work: Preparing the site, setting forms, pouring, spreading, and smoothing concrete (screeding and floating).
  • Framing: Assisting carpenters in building the skeletal structure of a building (walls, floors, roofs) using wood or metal studs.
  • Masonry Assistance: Mixing mortar and supplying bricks, blocks, or stone to masons.
  • Finishing Work: Installing insulation, hanging drywall, taping, and mudding seams. Applying paint, primers, and sealants.

Construction Workers' Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform strenuous manual labor for 8-10+ hours per day
  • Physical Fitness Capacity to repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, and squat.
  • Strength & Mobility: Capable of frequently lifting, carrying, and loading items weighing 40-50 lbs (18-23 kg).
  • Minimum Age: ThMust be at least 18 years old to work on most commercial sites (due to insurance and OSHA regulations). Some residential sites may hire workers as young as 16.
  • Legal Right to Work: Must be able to provide documentation proving eligibility to work in the country
  • Good Health & Fitness: The ability to work in demanding conditions without pre-existing health issues that would be aggravated by the work.
  • Basic Measurement and Math: Ability to read a tape measure accurately, calculate areas and volumes, and understand basic geometry for layouts.
  • Material Knowledge: Familiarity with common construction materials (lumber, concrete, fasteners, etc.) and how to handle them.
  • No Experience Necessary: Most construction sites are willing to train motivated individuals. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are more important than prior experience.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work effectively with a diverse crew, follow instructions from supervisors, and communicate clearly about tasks and potential hazards.
  • Safety Consciousness: A paramount attitude focused on personal safety and the safety of others. This is the most critical soft skill.
  • Drug-Free: Most companies require passing a pre-employment drug screening and are subject to random drug tests.

  • Arabic Language : Knowledge of some Arabic language is an added advantage .
  • Specialized Trade Training: Completion of a pre-apprenticeship program or enrollment in a formal apprenticeship (e.g., for carpentry, electrical, plumbing) is a direct path to a high-paying career.
